April favorites and TP Queens skin care regime

Hello everyone! Since we have been getting a few inquires about how we take care of our skin, I though it would be fun to do a mash-up video of my favorite products for April and how I take care of my skin. Yeah, I know it's May 1st.....I was having an ugly day yesterday and just couldn't get the video right so I gave up and did it today lol. Blog FAIL I know...my bad. Hehe anyways, I will list the products here in order of my favorites and then post the vid I did of them below. Please keep in mind that everyone has different skin and what works well for me may not work as well for you. Please comment below and let me know what your favorites are...we would LOVE to hear them!!!!

My number one favorite product for the month of April is Olay Fresh Effects Bead Me Up exfoliating cleanser! I LOVE this product! You can find this product for around 7$ at most drug stores, mass merchandise stores, and grocery stores.

My second favorite product is Dickinson's Witch Hazel pore perfecting toner. It's 100% natural and stinks to high heaven but dang does it work well!!! You can find this at drug stores and mass merchandise stores for about 5$.

My third favorite product is Proactive pore refining mask. This is just a great mask for oily skin and for when you get a break-out. You can find on the Proactive website for about 15$.

My fourth favorite product is from Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega-Bright skin tone correcting serum. Although a tad pricey, this serum is AMAZING for taking down redness a few shades when a breakout appears. I also love the way it smells! You can get it at most major department stores and at Origins for around 50$-75$.

My fifth favorite product is Clinique Moisture Surge Intense skin fortifying hydrator. Clinique products have never disappointed me and this one is no different. It provides great moisture with little to no greasiness and is fragrance free. You can get it at most major department stores for around 35$ to 60$.

Last but certainly not least is my sixth favorite product for the Month of April. It is Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment Advanced Therapy. This stuff will heal pretty much any dry skin and even keeps tattoos moisturized all day! I have been using this stuff for years and I totally love it! You can find this product at most drug stores, mass merchandise stores, and grocery stores for about 8$.

Watch the video for a more detailed look into why I chose these products as my favorites for skin care!

HP Wall Decor!

So usually we do posts about beautifying yourself.....but today I wanted to do a post about how to beautify your home in an affordable inexpensive way! Have you seen the new HP wall decor kiosks at your local Walmart or Meijer store? Are you wondering what the dealio is? Welp folks, I'm here to tell ya what all the hype is about!

So a little over a month ago, I got to host a HP Wall Decor party via House Party. (if you don't know what House Party is...it is a party website that lets you throw parties for different companies like HP, Nerf, Keurig, Soda Stream, BIC, etc.) I got to test out the HP mounted photos and the HP canvas photos for free thanks to House Party and HP.

HP wall decor offers you great new ways to display photos, heirlooms, and works of art by printing them onto mounted photos, canvas, posters, banners, and other neat stuff. The offer different sizes for their mounted photos and canvases so you can easily create customizable collages on your walls. Did I mention how easy it was?!?!?! It's so super easy...all you gotta do is take your photos, heirlooms, or works of art to your local HP kiosk, scan or upload the image you want at the HP kiosk computer, and print out your receipt at the photo counter. Some of them (like the mounted photos) will print out the picture at the HP kiosk printer, and then just take it to the photo counter to have them mount it for you...which takes only about 5 minutes. For the canvas, it will print out a receipt and you may be able to pick it up that day depending on what other orders the photo lab is dealing with that day. Mine took 24 hours before I could pick it up. You can also order these online if you want to skip the kiosk on Walmarts website. Also, it gives you options for altering your photos colors and size and even offers mirrored sides for photos...awesome! There are a lot of different options for these so check them out!

This is what the HP kiosk looked like at my local Walmart.

This is the ticket it prints out for the mounted photos. You scan the receipt at the printer after the allotted time is up and it prints your photo. Then you take it to the photo lab to have it mounted.

Front and back side of mounted photo. The size of this one is 5x7.

This is the 11x14 photo canvas front and back. I loved the way it turned out!

See?!?!? I told ya they were really cool. It's a wonderful and affordable way to dress up your home and walls. I give this product and service 5 stars so please go check it out and if you do... comment below and show us how you dressed up your walls!

I would like to give a shout out to HP and House party for letting me try this product and service for free. You rock!

Alright folks that's it from me today. Be sure to check out our drug store haul giveaway valued at 60$! http://girlsneedtoiletpaper.blogspot.com/2013/04/give-away-contest.html

Peace, love, and speed bumps ya'll!

Easy nail art for beginners: Gold Glitter Gradient

Hi guys!

Check out this easy gold glitter gradient mani I just did :)

This was very simple.  All I did was start out with a clear base coat (I used Seche Clear).  Let the base coat dry for a few minutes then bust out your glitter polish.  I used Layla Ceramic Effect in CE55.  Start with a very thin coat about 3/4 down your nail and drag toward the nail tip.  It's ok if it's a bit streaky.  In fact, it will help the gradient effect if it is :)

Then, about half way between the start of the polish and the tip, start thickening up the glitter.  I found it easiest to just kind of blob it on with the brush making sure there were lots of glitter chunks filling in the gradient.  Then repeat this blobbing process on the very tips to complete the gradient.  Your last step is to add your glossy top coat to add lots of shine and protect your glitter.  I used 2 coats of top coat (Seche Vite of course) to make sure everything is nice and smooth.  I hate it when my glitter pokes out and snags on things.

Obviously, you can use whatever color glitter you want to make this all your own.  I chose not to use a base color because I love the look of the gradient fading to my natural nail color but this kind of mani looks amazing over base colors.

I hope you like it!  It was a lot of fun and very simple to do.  I hope to do some video nail tutorials for you soon.  I just ordered a new video camera which should arrive any day now so keep an eye out for those on my youtube channel which is linked in our giveaway post right here:
