Easy nail art for beginners: Gold Glitter Gradient

Hi guys!

Check out this easy gold glitter gradient mani I just did :)

This was very simple.  All I did was start out with a clear base coat (I used Seche Clear).  Let the base coat dry for a few minutes then bust out your glitter polish.  I used Layla Ceramic Effect in CE55.  Start with a very thin coat about 3/4 down your nail and drag toward the nail tip.  It's ok if it's a bit streaky.  In fact, it will help the gradient effect if it is :)

Then, about half way between the start of the polish and the tip, start thickening up the glitter.  I found it easiest to just kind of blob it on with the brush making sure there were lots of glitter chunks filling in the gradient.  Then repeat this blobbing process on the very tips to complete the gradient.  Your last step is to add your glossy top coat to add lots of shine and protect your glitter.  I used 2 coats of top coat (Seche Vite of course) to make sure everything is nice and smooth.  I hate it when my glitter pokes out and snags on things.

Obviously, you can use whatever color glitter you want to make this all your own.  I chose not to use a base color because I love the look of the gradient fading to my natural nail color but this kind of mani looks amazing over base colors.

I hope you like it!  It was a lot of fun and very simple to do.  I hope to do some video nail tutorials for you soon.  I just ordered a new video camera which should arrive any day now so keep an eye out for those on my youtube channel which is linked in our giveaway post right here:

EASY Nail Art for beginners: Galaxy Nails

Hey ya'll!!!

So, I have become pretty obsessed with nail art since discovering the AMAZING Seche Vite quick dry top coat.  This stuff has really been a game changer for me.  My formerly impossibly frustrating at home manicures are now a fun way for me to let off some steam in a healthy, creative way.

I have been watching hours upon hours of nail art tutorials on youtube lately and came across a beautiful Galaxy themed nail art tutorial by youtube user, cutepolish.  She made it look so easy that I thought "Hey!  Even I can do that!!!"  So, I gave it a go and you know what?  Hey!  Even I can do that!!!

Check it out!!!

Pretty cool, huh?  I really love this manicure and I am soooo proud of myself for pulling it off.  It really is very, very simple to do.  Basically, all you really do is lightly sponge on your nebula colors then throw some glitter and a top coat over it and you are done.  Easy peasy!  Here is a pic of all the things I used for this manucure:

Base coat, top coat, black polish, white polish, yellow polish, pink polish, dark purple/green duochrome polish, fine silver glitter polish, blue/pink holo glitter polish, tweezers, toothpick and a couple tiny sponge pieces ripped from a clean cosmetic wedge.

I know this seems like a lot, but I swear, this manicure takes very little time to do.  I was done from base coat to top and all the layers in between in about 30 minutes.  I swear!  Keep in mind, this isn't much longer than it takes me to do a standard one color manicure.  I am NOT a skilled nail painter.  If I rush through, I make a horrible mess that even pure acetone can't take care of.  What I really love about this manicure is that the less precise your sponging and dotting are, the more realistic the design looks.  It really is perfect for people who have little to no experience in nail art.  GENIUS!!!

Ok, enough of me rambling on about how easy this manicure is!!!  It's time to SHOW you.  Now, I can't think of a better way to show you, than to link the cutepolish video tutorial I used myself to create this look, so here it is:

Easy, right?!  I KNOW!!!  You are welcome!
