May LootCrate Review!

Hey ya'll! It's finally time for another LootCrate review! The theme for the month of May was EQUIP. I have to be completely honest, I was kinda disappointed. When I heard EQUIP was the theme I was thinking equipping your character with weapons, armor, potions, etc. There was noting of the sort in this months crate.  Although everything in the box was pretty cool, it wasn't near as good as past boxes have been. My 11 year old son liked it, so that's all that matters to me, but personally it was just meh to me this month. ANYWAYS, here's what we got in our May LootCrate!

My son got his official LootCrate member card with his name and looter number on it. He was pretty excited about this and really wants to show it off to all his friends! Also he got a 1 year digital subscription from Pure Nintendo. Value...10$ duh! http://purenintendo.com/

8 Bit bow tie from Black Tie Geek. This is a brand spankin new company who launched their first product with LootCrate. I'm not sure what the value is on this item, but I've seen similar items go for about 10$. My son LOVED this and he wants to wear it to his 5th grade graduation! You can find their website here and they will be launching soon! How exciting! http://blacktiegeek.launchrock.com/

Don't Panic towel from Graphic Lab. This is one of my new favorite companies. I love all the cool unique shirts they come out with every week and I love how affordable they are. They do not sell this towel on their website, so I believe this is another LootCrate only thing like the Mario Kart racing cinch in last months box. I will place the value of this at 5$. http://www.graphiclabtees.com/

I LOVE this and I totally snagged it for my car phone charger cord because it's ridiculously long. I am OBSESSED with ninjas and this is just totally awesome. You can find these Ninja Cord Wraps from The Dojo online on several sites including Amazon from anywhere between $1.99-$6.00. I found them here for $1.99! I think I'm going to have to order a few more! http://dx.com/p/cute-ninja-cable-smart-wraps-2-pack-24522

Super Mario Coin candies from Boston America. Strawberry flavored Mario coin shaped candy inside a very hardy metal candy holder shaped like a Mario question box. You can find these on sites like Amazon for about $3 or you can find a Boston America dealer here: http://www.bostonamerica.com/where-to-buy

Inanimate Stickers from Fred & Friends. $4.95 is the cheapest I found these for here: \http://www.highfashionhome.com/inanimate-stickers.html

When you buy them online , it comes with 2 sheets per pack. Ours only came with one so the value is about $2.50. Personally, I think that's pretty pricey for a sticker sheet, but each to their own I guess. These will be used and will probably be all over the house by tomorrow. To find a Fred & Friends retailer near you click here: http://fredandfriends.com/buy

Papercraft Ironman from Gus Santome of http://minipapercraft.blogspot.com/

I honestly cant believe they put this in a LootCrate...really? I mean  REALLY!?!?!?!?! You can download these for free and make them yourself or do what I did for my sons birthday and have Office Max print them out on their nice glossy cardstock for less than a dollar. I'm placing the value of this at .25 cents just because of the cost of ink and the glossy paper it came on. Very disappointed in this particular item.

Bonus Item! The Flash 2.75 Inch PVC Figurine from Monogram International Inc. Value around 5$...at least that's what similar items are being sold for. Apparently, this one is a rare find according to what I have read online....which is way cool. He wont be taken out of the package and proudly displayed on my shelf. I couldn't find one of these on sale except for one on ebay going for 15$, but maybe you can do a search and find one for cheaper on the Google machine. You can check out the company that makes them here: http://www.monogramdirect.com/index.asp

Total value of this months LootCrate give or take is around $37.74 which is pretty awesome considering we're only paying $11.67 per box. (plus 6$ shipping) Even though I wasn't overwhelmed by this months crate, it still had pretty darn cool stuffs inside and it made my son happy, which is all that matters to me.

Alright folks that wraps up our May LootCrate review! Stay tuned next month for another exciting review for LootCrate. If you're interested in getting LootCrate for yourself or as a gift, please use my friend referral code so I can keep doing awesome reviews like this one! http://www.lootcrate.com/?campaignid=407&mbsy=cV6D LootCrate will run you about $13.37 per box for one month, $12.37 per box for 3 months, and $11.67 per box for six months. Use the code EQUIP at check out to save 10% on any subscription box. DO IT!!!

Peace, love, and sweat towels ya'll!

Review: Color Club Halo Hues 2013

Hey Guys!

So, if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know I have been playing around with the new Color Club Halo Hues 2013 collection for the last week.  I decided to do an in depth review for you here in case you are considering tracking these holographic polishes down.

First up is Kismet!

Kismet is a beautiful yellow green hollow and it is just gorgeous in real life.  This is a great spring/summer color and is a fantastic alternative to some of the silver holographics out there.

Next is Cosmic Fate!

Cosmic Fate is one of my favorites.  It's a nice peachy "neutral" holo that can liven up any outfit and is definitely one of the most "work appropriate" colors in this collection.

Miss Bliss!

Miss Bliss makes me think of one thing.  UNICORN FARTS!!! Ok, now that you have that visual burned into your brain, let me explain.  One of my favorite fragrances is from Fortune Cookie Soap and it is called Unicorn Farts.  It's a lovely pinky fruity floral scent that is so whimsical and fun.  If Unicorn Farts was a nail polish, Miss Bliss would be it!

Over the Moon!
I am over the moon for Over the Moon!  This is a very close second for my favorite of this collection.  Just look at that SHINE!

Eternal Beauty!

This one was voted favorite by almost all of my friends and family on Facebook.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  My mother has threatened to steal it from me (but I decided to give it to her anyway).  This is not my favorite but I do love it :)

Beyond!

Hands down, my absolute favorite in this collection.  I don't know what it is but I find this one to be STUNNING.  . The holo effect is more subtle in this one than all the others.  You really need to have lots of light shining right on it to see the rainbow but once you do....WOW.  I look at it and all I see is a vast universe scattered across my nails I can't wait to use this in a galaxy mani.  When I do, I will be sure to share the pictures with all of you.

Something about these polishes that totally amazed me is that it only took 2 coats to reach full opacity- even on the lightest colors!  I did not have to use a base color to make them pop.  These photos are just of the polish over my regular Orly Binder base coat.  I also topped them with Seche Vite and was thrilled to find out that it did not dull the holo effect at all.  The drying time on these polishes is very good.  They become touch dry within minutes, even before I used my Seche Vite top coat.  No risk of smudging and smearing these polishes before you have a chance to finish your mani.  I'm also super impressed by how easy they are to remove.  I have no trouble at all taking it off with my regular, non-acetone polish remover.  It comes off just as easily as any cream polish, unlike glitter which always take acetone and aluminum foil.  This is a great way to get a high impact sparkle on your nails without the pain of a glitter removal routine.  The holo effect is so cool and so different.  I have gotten so many compliments on  every single one of these, I can't even count them all.  If you are new to nail art, or just don't even bother, these halo hues polishes are a great way to go to get some really fancy looking phalanges!

I purchased mine through Amazon for about $40.  That comes out to less than $7 per polish which ain't too shabby.  I got my polishes in less than a week, which was great, but I did have one problem... and it was a biggie.  If you look at my picture with Eternal Beauty, you can plainly see it...

About a third of the bottle leaked in transit.  BUMMER!  Each bottle was individually wrapped in bubble wrap, tightly and taped closed.  I think what happened was that whoever wrapped this bottle accidentally twisted the lid and opened the seal slightly.  There are no cracks in the bottle and I haven't had any leaks since I opened it.  Unfortunately, that still means I lost a lot of polish :(

The Amazon dealer I got these from is JVbeautysupply.  I debated whether or not to share this info because I do really think it was an honest mistake.  It looks like it happened when the dealer was trying to carefully wrap the bottle to prevent it from breaking during transit.  I have not filed a complaint because it didn't look like it was done because someone was being thoughtless.  It looked like it happened because someone tried to protect it.  Like I said, an honest mistake.  I wanted to let you guys know, just in case you still want to avoid this buyer- but I really do think it was a fluke.

You can find these polishes on Amazon and Ebay from lots of different vendors.  Make sure the price point is between $6-$7 per polish, or else you might be getting ripped off.  I bought the whole set, but you can find these polishes sold individually as well if you don't want all the colors.  You can also buy them from the Color Club website below:
Color Club Halo Hues 2013

As far as where to find these in store, I have heard rumors on the intArwebs that you can find them at Duane Reed, Rite Aide, Harmon, Winner's and other drug stores.  We don't have any of these in Austin, TX so I really couldn't tell you for sure.  I have never seen these at my local drug stores so I had to go online.

I guess that's about it!  I love these polishes and I am so glad to have them in my collection.  My mother is so in love with Eternal Beauty and Miss Bliss that I decided to give her mine now that I have tested them out and done all my swatching.  I'll miss them, but I know she will get more use out of them than I will.  I'm really more drawn to Beyond an Over the Moon anyway.

Oh! and BTW, these look fantastic in nail art designs!  Today, I decided to go for something subtle so I used a dotting tool to apply Beyond around the edges of my nails.  For the base color I used Essie Sand Tropez.  I think they came out pretty cute! What do you think????

Please, don't forget to follow me on Instagram @thewooflingdiva

UPDATE!!! Sally Hansen Dry and Go Drops and my mini review on Seche Vite.

Ok so I wanted to give you an update on the Sally Hansen dry and go drops. I went out to Sally's Beauty Supply and bought the Seche Vite base coat and top coat just to see if the drops worked better with a higher quality top coat. Sure enough...they did, but honestly I'm not quite sure if it was just the top coat in general that dried my nails super fast or if it was a combination of the both. I'm going to keep experimenting with these drops each time I do my nails to find out what works with them and what doesn't. As of right now, it seems like as long as you have a high quality top coat, your good to go with the drops.

I love the Seche Vite base and top coat. They are both amazeballs!!! The base coat is not too thick and dries incredibly fast and the top coat also dries super fast and leaves an extremely hard finish. They're not too expensive and will run you about 7$-10$ each depending on where you buy them. Thank you so much thewooflingdiva for turning me on to this brand of polish!!!

I know a lot of people don't like Seche Vite because they say it chips too fast or cracks their polish. Well remember with all polishes you have to make sure you wrap it around your finger nail. That includes base coat, color, and top coat. It will help prevent chipping/cracking. If you lead a very active lifestyle...dishes, laundry, working out, gardening, etc...Your polish is bound to chip at some point. Even the expensive polishes wont stay on if your hard on your hands. Just keep that in mind.

I call this...my fairy princess pixi mani. With both the top coat and the drops, it dried in less than 5 minutes.....YES completely dry!!! For being in the Texas humidity, that's amazing. The Sally Hansen Dry and Go drops left my cuticles soft and moisturized and made my new mani very shiny. I'm still not quite used to its oily texture, but it seems to soak in pretty fast.

Well folks I will continue to keep you all updated on the Sally Hansen Dry and Go Drops. Stay tuned for more awesome posts from girls need toilet paper including a brand spankin new May Loot Crate review! I'm so excited for it to get here I could EXPLODE!

Peace, Love, and Fairy Princesses Yall!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Dry + Go Drops Review.

Hey everyone! TP Queen here for a bummer of a review. I really had high hopes for this product...I really did, but alas I was majorly let down. This product just couldn't live up to its claims. I got this product from the summer Allure beauty box along with the Butter London polish I used to help review this product. (review of the box coming soon to a girlsneedtoiletpaper blog page near you!) You can buy the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Dry + Go Drops for around 7$ at most drug stores, mass merchandise stores, and even a select few grocery stores...but personally I wouldn't.

This product claims it will dry your polish to the touch in 60 seconds and fully dry your nails in 2 minutes. It also claims the ingredients help hydrate and nourish dry cuticles, gives you a smooth glossy manicure, and make your cuticles look soft and smooth. Hmm...pretty hefty claim there Sally.

I decided to go with 2 coats of my new Butter London polish in Poole. I used some super cute Hello Kitty stickers that thewooflingdiva gave me for mothers day (thank you, I LOVE them!!!), and a basic quick dry top coat. This product had absolutely no smell, which I found kinda weird and it was very oily feeling.

Now I know it may a bit hard to see, but on my pinky nail I poked a small hole in my finger nail after 5 minutes of waiting. That's already 3 minutes longer than the product claims. I will say though my cuticles looked and felt great and my manicure was pretty darn shiny! It did live up to its claim of drying it to the touch in 60 seconds...it just never fully dried my nails. Crazy right?!?!?!

See that dent on my nail? That was made after 2 HOURS!!! WTF Sally Hansen?!?!?!?

So yeah...I'm pretty darn disappointed and kinda ticked to be honest. It's been 3 hours and it's still not dry. Now I don't know if this is due to the top coat or the 2 coats of Butter London polish or the fact that it's so ridiculously humid outside right now. Though, I can tell you I have never had problems with my top coat before other than it getting a tad stringy at times and I've also never had a problem with any of Butter London's polishes.

Will I try this stuff again...yes. I'm going to give it a go with different brands of polish and a different top coat to see if that changes anything. As for now...my Hello Kitty stickers are no bueno and my manicure is trashed :'(

Well guys that's it for me tonight. Be sure to check out my youtube video I did of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Dry + Go Drops below. Also guys, we have both been super busy lately and are a bit behind on posting, but stay tuned for more in-depth reviews and other fun posts from us at girlsneedtoiletpaper!!!

Peace, love, and cinnamon buns ya'll!!!

TOILET PAPER THURSDAY!!!!

IT'S TOILET PAPER THURSDAY!!!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Hey ya'll!
Well, I have great news!  The week is almost over- YOU'VE SURVIVED! Congratulations :)

Now, for a little TP history factoid:

Did you know that the first record of paper being used for err... ahem... bathroom purposes... dates all the way back to 6th century China?!  It's true!  That's a long time ago... but it makes you wonder, what did people use before toilet paper...

I don't want to think about it... images of poison ivy in one's nether regions comes to mind...

ok... now that I've put that image in your head, have fun with these others I pulled from the google machine!

ugh...

awful...

Milani Texture Polish Review: Spoiled in Fuchia

Hey guys!
I am still on my nail polish/nail art kick so I thought it was a good time to review a nail polish that is right on trend right now: Milani Texture!
Textured nail polish is all the rage right now and thank goodness one of our beloved drugstore brands has decided to cash in.  This spring, Milani launched their Texture line- a line of beautiful, bold colors with a sandy textured finish.  I wasn't sure how I felt about the trend but when I saw Milani's Spoiled in Fuchia, I knew I had to have it.

Isn't it gorgeous?!  I love this color! Two coats and you have full opacity with no streaking.
As for the texture? Very sandy.  Very grainy.  It feels a lot like a fine grain sandpaper.  Very cool... But also very very scratchy.  I have extremely sensitive skin and I found I couldn't really tolerate wearing it for more than a couple days.  As beautiful and interesting as it is, I felt icky and uncomfortable by the end of my second day.  That's not to say I wouldn't use this again.  I totally will.  But I would not expect to keep it on for long.  On the other hand, it makes for an excellent back scratching mani ;P

Because I had a difficult time with a full mani with this polish, I tried it as an accent in some blocked nail art.  I really liked using this polish as an accent.  Although, it is still, of course, scratchy, I had an easier time living with it on only a small portion of my nails.

As for removal, this was very easy to get off!  Much easier than glitter.  A little less easy than regular polish but I didn't need to bust out the foil and the acetone.  Just my regular polish remover worked just fine.  This is really important to me because lately I have been doing my nails several times a week (sometimes daily- I know... I have a problem) and I do not want to spend an hour removing my old manicure.  In less than 5 minutes, I can have this stuff removed from both my hands and move on to the next manicure.  Easy peasy leamon squeezy.

Here's my tip to you if you decide to pick one of these up.  DO NOT USE A TOPCOAT.  I repeat.  DO NOT USE A TOPCOAT.  You will ruin the effect if you use a top coat with this polish.  This is not just a visual texture.  It's a TEXTURE texture.  It's a tactile effect.  It's meant to feel rough.  Don't try to make a penguin fly if you know what I mean.  You'll end up disappointed.

As far as I know, these are limited edition but I am still finding them just about everywhere.  If you're interested, though, better pick them up before they are all gone.  Here is a link to the Milani website in case you can't find these in your area anymore:

 http://milanicosmetics.com/p-161-texture-creams.aspx

Spoiled in Fuchia was really the only color that spoke to me out of this line, but I will keep an eye out in case Milani decides to expand the collection, which, I hope they do.  From what I can tell, this textured trend is not going anywhere any time soon!

See ya'll next time!

April favorites and TP Queens skin care regime

Hello everyone! Since we have been getting a few inquires about how we take care of our skin, I though it would be fun to do a mash-up video of my favorite products for April and how I take care of my skin. Yeah, I know it's May 1st.....I was having an ugly day yesterday and just couldn't get the video right so I gave up and did it today lol. Blog FAIL I know...my bad. Hehe anyways, I will list the products here in order of my favorites and then post the vid I did of them below. Please keep in mind that everyone has different skin and what works well for me may not work as well for you. Please comment below and let me know what your favorites are...we would LOVE to hear them!!!!

My number one favorite product for the month of April is Olay Fresh Effects Bead Me Up exfoliating cleanser! I LOVE this product! You can find this product for around 7$ at most drug stores, mass merchandise stores, and grocery stores.

My second favorite product is Dickinson's Witch Hazel pore perfecting toner. It's 100% natural and stinks to high heaven but dang does it work well!!! You can find this at drug stores and mass merchandise stores for about 5$.

My third favorite product is Proactive pore refining mask. This is just a great mask for oily skin and for when you get a break-out. You can find on the Proactive website for about 15$.

My fourth favorite product is from Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega-Bright skin tone correcting serum. Although a tad pricey, this serum is AMAZING for taking down redness a few shades when a breakout appears. I also love the way it smells! You can get it at most major department stores and at Origins for around 50$-75$.

My fifth favorite product is Clinique Moisture Surge Intense skin fortifying hydrator. Clinique products have never disappointed me and this one is no different. It provides great moisture with little to no greasiness and is fragrance free. You can get it at most major department stores for around 35$ to 60$.

Last but certainly not least is my sixth favorite product for the Month of April. It is Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment Advanced Therapy. This stuff will heal pretty much any dry skin and even keeps tattoos moisturized all day! I have been using this stuff for years and I totally love it! You can find this product at most drug stores, mass merchandise stores, and grocery stores for about 8$.

Watch the video for a more detailed look into why I chose these products as my favorites for skin care!

Alrighty folks, that's it from me today. Guys this is the LAST day to enter our drug store haul giveaway so be sure to check it out before it's gone gone gone!!!http://girlsneedtoiletpaper.blogspot.com/2013/04/give-away-contest.html
